Virtual Postpartum Support

While in-person support has many proven benefits, virtual support is an accessible way for me to offer support to parents who may be out of my service range, only need support for a short amount of time, need a couple check-ins, or simply prefer a virtual setting.

Virtual support is offered at a reduced rate.
  • Investment: $30/hour

Postpartum Check-In

A postpartum check-in with me is an opportunity to ask questions or discuss any concerns. I provide a neutral, safe space for parents to do this. The postpartum check-in can be really beneficial for parents who are hearing or reading conflicting information or aren't feeling quite right at a given time.

Postpartum check-ins can be completed in-person or virtually.
  • Investment: $30-40/hour
I am also willing to offer a blended support model of both in-person and virtual support. The details can be discussed in our free consultation.

I am passionate about finding barrier-free ways for all families to find the postpartum support they need. Families facing economic hardship can reach out to me to discuss a reduced rate. Gift certificates can be a great gift for a family who would benefit from doula support.

Babysitting and Childminding

Are you and your partner itching to reconnect or take a break from your busy family lives? Maybe you have an appointment you need to attend and your usual childcare option fell through! Fear not: I happily offer babysitting and childminding services to families who need a few hours to get away!

As a trained doula and experienced mother (of human and fur babies), I understand and appreciate the need for an experienced caregiver to look after children in such situations. Taking time for yourselves should never be something you worry or feel guilty about. Let me help you do what you need to do!
  • Investment: $20-40/hour (varies based on number of children and hours requested for help).
  • I am okay with all kinds of animals! I have 2 cats and used to have a beautiful corn snake. And I've been known to steal dog's hearts. ;)
  • Can offer references, police background check, and vulnerable sector check upon request.

Companionship and Respite

As a professional caregiver and support worker in the disability sector for over 12 years, I am excited to now offer companionship and in-home respite to families needing extra support!

Companionship flows along a similar vein to the work I do as a doula. Companionship with your loved one can be:
  • Short- or long-term
  • At any age or stage of your loved ones (adolescence, elderly, newcomers to Calgary or Canada, after a major life event such as accident or loss, individuals with disabilities, etc.)
  • Helping with practical tasks around the home
  • Hanging out or accompanying to appointments, events, or trips*
  • Helping connect with community resources
  • Running errands for or with a person*
  • Giving family members a break
  • Helping to build social connections
  • Holding space
  • … and so much more

  • Investment: $40/hour (in-person) or $30/hour (virtual)

Please note: My vehicle can accommodate a collapsible wheelchair or walker. However, I do not have a wheelchair accessible vehicle, so any travel must be done by individuals who are able to get in and out of my vehicle with some assistance.

Additional Services and Add-Ons

Breastfeeding Support: Breastfeeding is a difficult skill to get the hang of for many breastfeeding parents. I am trained as a BEE (breastfeeding, equity, and education) mentor through the NorthernStar Mother's Milk Bank and have taken breastfeeding training through my doula training. I have helped many people navigate and improve on this skill using a gentle, patient, and non-judgmental approach.

Investment: $35/hour. Free for current clients.

Belly Casting: Belly casting is a tangible and unique way to remember your prenatal journey. Belly casts are created using plaster on the pregnant person's belly and chest. Once dried and set, belly casts can be decorated and customized by the parent(s) or me for an additional cost.

Investment: $300-$500.

Art Life Coaching: Art is such a powerful healing tool that can be used to help process emotions and walk someone through their experiences-- good and not so good. As an artist, certified Art Life Coach, and perinatal mental health survivor, I have personally used (and continue to use) art as a coping and healing tool in my own journey. I understand first hand the power of art and the written word to help a person through seasons of their life.

Investment: $50/session. $30/session for current clients.
Krista was great with our 10 month old and 3 year old! We felt at ease going out for a night and leaving her to do bedtime. It is so hard to find someone you feel comfortable leaving the bedtime routine with and she killed it! Thanks for letting us enjoy our date nights!
